25 Kent

Contrary to popular opinion, people work in Williamsburg. Well, they do now.

Thanks to visionaries Hollwich Kushner and Gensler, 25 Kent Avenue is complete. Brooklyn’s first ground-up commercial office tower in over 40 years is ready for work.

Williamsburg has been undergoing an impressive revitalization, especially along the waterfront. Once an industry hub, and then a community for artists, the neighborhood has become a booming social scene, tourist destination and luxury living spot for well, luxurious folks. But what has been missing, is flexible, modern amenity workplaces.

Inspired by the industrial nature of the surrounding neighbors, 25 Kent embraces the historical texture of Williamsburg and Bushwick, incorporating brick, metal glass and blackened steel. The buildings split at the ground level inviting the public into a central through-block courtyard. The street level shops ring the building perimeters and surround the mid-block lobby entrances and tunnels.

The lighting is a mixture of pedestrian friendly sconces and lamp posts, (a nod to the past), and sleek recessed graphic lines of light. No mistake, this is a modern office tower.

Our hope is that the lighting feels inviting and exciting yet unobtrusive.
