The Journey to Edge and Peak Restaurant

This 101-floor journey, frequented by global voyagers and native New Yorkers, provides everything from a brass-trimmed 45-seat bar area to a highly innovative education and sustainability-focused exhibit.

The multi-sensory experience begins on floors 4 and 5 and pairs luxurious simplicity with purpose. Floor 5 is concluded with a soulfully dimmed lounge which enables a seamless transition before the 96-floor journey to unparalleled sights and dining.

At the pinnacle, guests are welcomed with a distinguished view of New York City, accentuated by the warm glow illuminating the space with a perfectly composed radiance for conversation and connection.

With the intent to mirror the foundation of this 101 floor Journey, a hallway of water-filled caissons coalesce with warm lighting to create the exhibit’s depiction of Hudson Yard’s unique and robust engineering approach.

Visitors progress into a floor-to-ceiling digital representation of the Hudson Rail Yard. This historical display is exhibited with an avant-garde glimmer which illuminates through speck-like openings in the bronze scaffolding. The digital display is accented with color-changing strips to balance the cooling effect of the light blue outlines gleaming from the digital subway cars.

In the elevator queue area, the lighting designer positioned a blue perimeter cove with seamless blending of the overhead displays and side panels. The variety of colors are accentuated by the cove, coming together at the center of the sleek metallic flooring to create the perfect observation environment.

The design team embedded gracefully-toned fixtures into the display which foregrounded the client’s overarching message, while putting the message into practice through exceeding sustainable energy standards.

Floor 5 welcomes guests with the first of two elevated lounge experiences which synthesizes education with hospitality. Through the balance of warm lighting with natural tints of oak-wrapped ceilings, metallic stone floors, and polished champagne metal details, the lighting designer produced the soulfully robust tone pictured.

Floor 101 welcomes guests with a warm yet awakening glow overlooking the observation deck. The design team embedded harmonic tones into the oak-wrapped ceiling which illuminated the bar area with the perfect glow for conversation and connection.

The 1,131-foot high dining space seamlessly absorbs the influx of city light with three sleek and powerful hanging fixtures, which illuminate the oak-polished ground with an embracing, warm glow ever-present throughout the journey.
